Moji Taiwo, an author of – I GIVE because I’M BLESSED – I’M BLESSED because I GIVE – ‘A Chronicle of An Immigrant’s Journey’ – available on Amazon worldwide in hardcopy, ebook and Audio downloads. In her book, readers will find “Excitement to be their unique Self, Inspiration to succeed by turning challenges to opportunities; Motivation to purse their dreams and achieve their goals, Strength to challenge the standard norms and the Audacity to be Positively Different.
Author of – Grandma and Her Munchkins – An Everyday Adventure Children’s (picture) Book Series – Books 1 to 5 published in English and French on Amazon and for schools, libraries, and bookstores through IngramSpark.
She’s also the Creator and Host of The Immigrant Experience Show (Tieshow) on her YouTube Channel. Tieshow is intended to be a platform to openly discuss matters of importance to our collective Immigrant population (first and second generation), individuals and families.


Tieshow highlights who we are as Immigrants, our challenges, needs, contributions, aspirations, achievements, and resources. And above all, Tieshow is a Promotion and Marketing platform.
During her 31 years’ service with Alberta Justice and Solicitor General, Young Offender Branch, she worked tirelessly to improve, impact, and positively shape the lives of young people and their families. Also, she enjoyed training / mentoring young staff and watched them develop and progress in their chosen careers. Equally, in the community, she has delivered Life Skills program classes to youth groups since 1993. She models professionally in her spare time.


Awards: A recipient of many communities leadership and professional awards including, but not limited to the Governor General of Canada, Corrections Exemplary Service Bar Award (2015); the Solicitor General and Public Security Leadership Award (2009), the Corrections Exemplary Service Medal Award (2008) and many other volunteer services awards.
In 2018, received the 25th year anniversary of NCAC Volunteer Award and was chosen the cover story of Lethbridge College’s Alumni Magazine the ‘Wider Horizon’.


In 2017, her story was featured as one of Canada 150 Stories (an immigrant success story) by the Canadian Race Relations Foundation.
In 2022, received the Unmask Your Beauty Black Woman of Influence Award
In 2023, received the Queen Elizabeth 11 Platinum Medal Award from the Government of Alberta.
In 2023, honoured with a Lifetime Black Heritage Leadership Award from Realize Your Potential Youth Society of Canada (RYP).
She was a founding and active member of the Nigerian Canadian Association of Calgary (1993), the Yoruba Foundation, Calgary (2004) and founding member/Past President of Women of Vision Society of Alberta (2012 – 2021).


An avid volunteer for causes that improves the lives of youth, women, families, and her community.
Through her board membership at various higher institutions and community organizations, including the Calgary Police Services multicultural unit, she joyfully shared her professional expertise and knowledge as a successful immigrant who is a proud CANADIAN. Most importantly, Moji Taiwo is a wife, mother, and grandmother of three beautiful boys.

Mrs. Njideka Harris-Eze – Director Board C- Chair/ Policy / Procedure & Funding

Njide has had a substantive career in information technology, marketing, banking, financial planning, and Human resource management spanning 31 years in Nigeria and Canada. Her strategic vision, solution orientation and clarification of complex financial situations distinguishes her practice.
Njide has been providing comprehensive financial planning services to executives, professionals, entrepreneurs, retirees, and families for over 20 years. Her areas of expertise include business corporations and succession planning, wealth protection, retirement, tax, and estate planning. Njide has a passion for people and a realistic view on planning, which she uses to provide expert financial planning advice with the desired outcome of addressing simple to complex issues with actionable, realistic, effective and easy to understand solutions.
Njide is a lifetime learner and operates in the complex and constantly changing financial world. She is a Certified Financial Planner (CFP®) and holds the Chartered Financial Divorce Specialist (CFDS), Chartered Investment Manager (CIM), Financial Management Advisor (FMA) designations as well as a B.Sc. in computer Science. She is a fellow of the Canadian Securities Institute (FCSI) and completed the Black North Academy Strategy and Board Governance program in 2022.
Njide is a passionate Christian, devoted wife, loving mother of three young adults and a dedicated community leader. She serves on the Human Resources, Governance and Strategy committees of the Board of the Calgary Catholic Immigrant Society, CCIS.
She is a sought-after public speaker and volunteers to teach Financial Literacy to youth and disadvantaged communities. She has volunteered with the National bank +Onyx initiative financial planning program, Junior Achievement, her church and various community associations especially the Nigerian Canadian Association of Calgary, NCAC. She served NCAC in various capacities as the Treasurer (2013-2015), Vice President (2015-20017) and the President (2017-2019).
Njide is an eternal optimist, works diligently to promote financial empowerment and advocates passionately for marginalized women and communities. She is a trail blazer and inspiration to women and young girls. Her excellent conduct and successful execution of her leadership responsibilities has encouraged more women to get involved and engaged with volunteering and leadership.
When she is not cooking up a storm, Njide loves reading, traveling and spending time with her family and friends.

A recipient of 2023 CPA Alberta Distinguished Service Award (DSA)
 A finance executive with more than 3 decades of experience in Finance and Leadership
roles of private, public traded companies, Not-For-Profit organizations and Canadian
Municipalities at Director of Finance and CFO levels for Eight years and 5 years as CFO for
Not-for-profit organizations in Alberta.
 Kola started his professional Career with Guinness PLC in Nigeria where he served for over
2 decades and held several key leadership positions in Finance.
 A recipient of 2 international awards from the Government Finance Officers Association
(GFOA) an organization that represents public finance officials throughout the United States
and Canada for six consecutive years (Distinguished Budget Award and Canadian Financial
Reporting Award (CAnFR). He is also a Fellow of the Institute of Chartered Accountant of
Nigeria (ICAN) .
 Kola loves to give back to the community and profession. He is passionate about mentoring
and developing the next generation of professionals. He is a founding member and past
Chairman of an organization that mentors over 200 professional Accountants living in
Canada who are also members of the Institute of Chartered Accountants of Nigeria, ICAN
Canada District.
 Kola previously served on the Board of Aids Calgary Awareness Association, High River
Regional Airport and currently a member of Audit & Risk Committee of the Calgary Board of
Education (CBE-$14B annual budget establishment), Board member and Treasurer of
Belgravia Square Condo Association, and Treasurer of the Nigerian Canadian Association of
Calgary (2021-23).
 Having volunteered for CPA in various areas, and with my wealth of professional and
leadership experience spanning over 3 decades, I would like to advance my service to
Alberta CPA board to support the vision and future of Accounting profession and CPA in
Alberta. My priorities include mentoring and coaching of the CPA members on leadership
qualities and continuing building good image for CPA within and outside Canada to ensure

Dennis Agbegha – Director / Strategy, Community Engagement & partnerships

Dennis Agbegha currently works as a Commercial Accounts Manager with BDC, a role he started in March 2021. Dennis joined BDC from ATB where he worked as a Business Banking Advisor and until most recently Senior Manager, Entrepreneurship. Prior to his banking career, Dennis was a Geoscientist with Exxonmobil, and before that he was a Production Geologist with Shell Upstream International in Nigeria. As a community builder and connector, Dennis enjoys volunteering for different organizations and being part of his community.
Dennis holds a Bachelor of Science in Geology and Mining from the University of Jos, Nigeria as well as a Master of Science in Petroleum Geoscience from Imperial College London, UK.

Bola Abe –Director / Programs / Volunteer Coordination/Secretary

Bola Abe is a Social Worker with Alberta Health Services and joined in September 2021. Prior to that, Bola worked with various agencies such as: CUPS, the Alex, Alpha House and the Drop in Center where she acquired various skills and experience in working with and supporting low income families and homeless people in the community.
Bola also worked with the Youth at the Calgary Young Offenders where she learned a lot about their struggles and implemented ways to support them in dealing with their mental and emotional struggles.


Bola has also worked with struggling youth and families at CUPS where she facilitated programs to
support struggling families. Bola also has a clinical background working with patients at the hospital.
Bola has a Marketing degree from the University of Saskatchewan and a Master’s Degree in Social Work
from the University of Calgary which she is very passionate about. Bola is very passionate about helping people, supporting and creating programs that would benefit children, youth and young adults. LINKEDIN

Mr. Raheem Balogun – Board Member

Raheem Bolatito Balogun currently works as a Disability Support Work with Everbright Complex Needs, Airdire, helping and supporting youth and teens with complex needs with necessary life skills to navigate the challenges of present day. 

Before moving to Canada in February 2023, he worked as an Assistant Project Manager at Nextworks Limited, an IT firm, he oversaw designing and implementation of IT infrastructure project such as LAN, WAN, CCTV, Fire Alarm, Fiber Cabling for the company. Prior to working as an assistant project manager, he also worked in various position in the company such as Procurement manager, Admin/Account officer. Raheem holds a Higher Diploma in Accounting.
